PSAU achieved a new distinction by entering for the first time the Shanghai World University Rankings 2022, where it ranked (817) at the level of world universities. This achievement is a continuation of excellence and integrative efforts between its entities and departments in all academic and research fields, the quality of education, the quality of faculty members and their outputs.
The Shanghai Ranking is one of the international academic rankings, which are issued annually to the world's universities according to specific indicators and criteria. These criteria are represented in the quality of education, the efficiency and excellence of the faculty members in publishing and the outputs of scientific research, in addition to the university’s performance with its peers in various criteria. According to scientific disciplines, PSAU has been ranked among the best 201-300 universities in mathematics, and 401-500 in electrical and electronic engineering and pharmacy.
It is worth mentioning, the entry of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University in Al-Kharj to the Shanghai World Classification of Universities is the first step toward globalization, as a result of the nature of the unlimited support from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince in various fields, and the great efforts led by the Ministry of Education to strengthen and empower the university education system in line with the objectives of Vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030.
